Who is our Creative Team?
Here is a spotlight on the creative team from the conception of the project since 2019. Anne had attended an Authentic Artist Creative Workshop led by Kath Burlinson and the rest is history! You can find out more about our creative process in Our Stories.
Anne Wood
Anne studied violin at the Royal Academy of Music, London and the International Menuhin Violin Academy, Gstaad, Switzerland. She studied North Indian violin when she lived in Pakistan and then at SOAS (London). She has toured worldwide, playing many musical genres. She has performed and recorded with RSC, RNT, Communicado, Lyceum, Traverse Theatres, Kreisler String Orchestra, Mairi Campbell, Savourna Stevenson, Stuttgart Opera, Rummiajta, Massive Attack, Elvis Costello, Deacon Blue, Michael Marra, Kathryn Tickell, Les Barneys Circus, Angel Olsen, DJ Ritu’s Sister India, and Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. Founding member /composer with The Cauld Blast Orchestra and plays with The Raincoats.
Kath Burlinson
Theatremaker and founder of Authentic Artist Collective. Directing credits include Mairi Campbell: Pulse and Auld Lang Syne (Vault Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Made in Scotland showcases), The Old House by Kate Maravan (High Tide, Theatre 503, Assembly Roxy), Stolen Voices, developed at the National Theatre Studio, London (Tête à Tête, Arcola, Grimeborn), Unbroken Line (Ovalhouse).
Authentic Artist Collective productions include Wolf (Escalator East to Edinburgh) and InVisible Lines (Assembly Roxy & Audacious Women Festival). Kath’s awards include a Manchester Evening News Award for Best Fringe Performance, Best Show Adelaide Fringe and a nomination for Best Ensemble, The Stage Awards.
Niloo-Far Khan
Edinburgh theatremaker that believes stories can encourage us to look deeper into how we can share and navigate our belonging. Her recent works include directing: Santa’s Little Astronaut (by Andy McGregor/Macrobert Arts Centre, 2022), Jinnistan (by Taqi Nazeer/Play, A Pie & A Pint, 2022); radio play ‘Glory, Glory an Edinburgh Story’ (by Kamala Santos/Tamasha & HolyMountain Productions, 2022) ‘Black Scots’ (National Theatre of Scotland/BBC Scotland, 2020); and assisting on: ‘Orphans’, (by Peter Mullan, adapted by Douglas Maxwell, directed by Cora Bissett, composed by Roddy Hart & Tommy Reilly/National Theatre of Scotland, 2022), and ‘Muster Station: Leith’ (directed by Ben Harrison/ GridIron & Edinburgh International Festival, 2022).
Kate Taylor
Independent producer of theatre and music theatre.
As well as producing When Mountains Meet/Jub Milain Pahaar, she is currently working with Mairi Campbell, Skye Loneragan, Jo Clifford and Maria Macdonnell, Finn Anderson and Tania Azevedo, and Edinburgh Performing Arts Development. Previously, she was Fundraising Consultant for Strange Town theatre company; Associate Producer for British Youth Music Theatre producing larger scale new music theatre and has held roles with English Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Hall Birmingham, City of London Festival and Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
